IITE Maritime Academy to start a new batch of Niyami Course-2 tomorrow

IITE Maritime Academy is preparing to conduct an additional batch of the Niyami Certificate-2 course in Male' City.

IITE Maritime Academy stated that classes for the course are scheduled to begin tomorrow, and interested individuals can still register by calling 7921961.

The academy noted that anyone who can speak Dhivehi and English, knows basic mathematics, and can understand the course materials is eligible to participate.

This 30-hour course paves the way to obtain the license required to captain Category C, B, and D vessels. Conducted with the permission of the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation, the course will teach maritime regulations, communication equipment, navigation, safety, communication, and general information about vessels.

IITE Maritime Academy is the longest-running academy conducting maritime courses in the Maldives. To date, the academy has successfully conducted 592 batches of the Niyami Course-2 in Male' and the atolls.

The courses commonly conducted by IITE Maritime Academy include the Niyami Certificate-1 course, Crew course, and Marine Mechanic course, in addition to the Niyami Certificate-2. Various batches of these courses are conducted every year in Male' and the atolls.
