IITE Maritime Academy to start a new batch of Niyami Course 1

IITE Maritime Academy is preparing to conduct a new batch of the Niyami Certificate 1 course in Male' City.

The academy stated that the course will be held from March 14 to 22 in Male' City. Those interested in participating can now register by calling 7921961, the academy said.

The 150-hour course is open to anyone who can speak Dhivehi or English and is able to understand the course materials.

Conducted with the permission of the Maldives Transport and Civil Aviation Authority, the course will cover maritime safety, navigation chart plotting, vessel watchkeeping, and general vessel information.

The Niyami Level 1 course paves the way to obtain a license to captain any vessel travelling within Maldivian waters.
