The HA. Ihavandhoo Ice Plant has been brought back into operation.
Operations at the ice plant, operated by the Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO) in Ihavandhoo, had been halted for about two weeks due to a technical issue.
Ihavandhoo Ice Plant resumes operations
MIFCO stated that the issue faced by the ice plant has been resolved and it was brought back into operation tonight.
During the days the ice plant operations were halted, many fishing vessels in Ihavandhoo were unable to go fishing due to the lack of ice. Concerns were also expressed regarding this. With the ice plant resuming operations today, the issue has been resolved, and it is expected that many vessels will go fishing tomorrow.
