Hoandedhdhoo Leases Land to Build a Slipway for Boat Building

The GDh. Hoandedhdhoo Island Council has once again opened the opportunity to submit bids for land designated to build a slipway on the island.

The council had previously announced the lease of the land designated for building a slipway for boat building, hauling, launching, and repair work through a bidding process. However, the council stated that it reopened the bid yesterday because no party had submitted a bid for the land by the time the previous announcement's deadline expired.

The council stated that parties interested in leasing the land are requested to submit their bids by 13:30 on January 20, 2025. The bid submission form will be available for purchase at the council office counter during official hours on all non-public holidays until January 19, and the price of a form is MVR 3,000 (Three Thousand Rufiyaa), the council said.

The council mentioned that the form can also be purchased by paying online, and parties paying online will be sent the form via email after they send the payment slip to the council's email info@hoandedhdhoo.gov.mv. Additionally, the council stated that all necessary information required by the lessee will be provided along with the bid form to those who purchase it.

The Hoandedhdhoo Council is leasing a 100,000 square foot plot of land to build the slipway. The boundaries of the land are determined to include both land and a portion of the sea. The land is being leased for a period of 30 years. The council also stated that a one-year rent-free grace period will be arranged for the lessee.

Sole proprietorships, private companies, and cooperatives can submit bids for the land.
