The cargo boat named "Mega Hoara", which ran aground on the reef of N. Vavathikurolhi, has been refloated.
The 98-foot boat, travelling from Male' to HA. Dhidhdhoo with 61 people on board, ran aground around 12:10 last night. MNDF Northern Area Command, Coast Guard First Squadron's harbourcraft launch and divers were active in refloating the grounded boat. At high tide, the boat was refloated around 09:35 today by being towed by two other vessels.
No one travelling on the boat nor any cargo was harmed in this incident. Since the boat was also undamaged, it is now continuing its journey towards Dhidhdhoo.
