Gadhdhoo ice plant halted due to condenser pump issue: MIFCO

The Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO) has stated that the operations of the ice plant in G.Dh. Gadhdhoo were halted due to an issue with the plant's condenser pump.

MIFCO stated today that an engineer from Kooddoo is currently active at the site to resolve the issue with the ice plant's condenser pump. However, they did not specify when it will be fully repaired and brought back into operation.

Due to the issue faced by the Gadhdhoo ice plant and the halt in its operations, Gadhdhoo fishermen are currently getting ice from the ice plant operated by MIFCO in Faresmaathodaa.

After upgrading the Gadhdhoo ice plant, MIFCO reopened it in September last year. When the capacity of the Gadhdhoo ice plant was upgraded from 25 tonnes to 50 tonnes, it produces 50 tonnes of flake ice per day.
