It has been decided to hold a food exhibition in Dhuvaafaru to mark this year's Fishermen's Day.
The opportunity to participate in this exhibition, scheduled to be held in Dhuvaafaru from December 11-13, was opened yesterday. The application form to participate in this exhibition is now available at the council office counter. The council stated that forms will be accepted every day from 08:00 am to 14:00 pm. As the opportunity to participate in the exhibition will be given to a limited number, the council said priority will be given in the order of form submission. The deadline for submitting the form is the 25th of this month.
This exhibition is an event held with the aim of providing an opportunity to showcase various types of locally produced food in one place, and to provide visitors with the opportunity to experience different Maldivian flavors. In this regard, the council said that priority will be given to food products made from fish while preparing traditional and modern Maldivian food at this exhibition. Participants in this exhibition can sell the items they prepare if they wish to do so. And the money received after selling will also go to them.
Since the official activities of this year's Fishermen's Day are being held in R. Dhuvaafaru, the arrangements for this exhibition and other activities held to mark Fishermen's Day are being organized jointly by the Dhuvaafaru Council and the Fisheries Ministry. Among the activities for Fishermen's Day, a cooking competition, a fish filleting competition, and a fishing tournament are also scheduled to be held.
