It has been decided to hold a fishing competition in R. Rasgetheemu to mark this year's Fishermen's Day.
The fishing competition, organized by the Rasgetheemu Council to celebrate Fishermen's Day, is scheduled to be held on Friday, December 12.
The council stated that starting today, application forms to participate in the fishing competition and the competition rules will be issued from the council office. The council has also requested interested parties to submit their forms before 13:00 on Thursday, the 27th of this month.
While three winning places have been decided for the fishing competition, the winners will be determined based on the teams that weigh the most fish. In addition, cash prizes will also be awarded to the individual who catches the most fish and the individual who catches the heaviest fish.
Prizes offered for the fishing competition:
1st place (Team weighing the most kilos): MVR 7,000
2nd place (Team weighing the second most kilos): MVR 5,000
3rd place (Team weighing the third most kilos): MVR 3,000
Individual catching the most fish: MVR 700 and a trophy
Individual catching the heaviest fish: MVR 700 and a trophy
A fishing competition is held in Rasgetheemu every year to mark Fishermen's Day. It is noted that this competition receives great support from the public.
