Fishermen's Forum Commences in Dhuvaafaru

The Fishermen's Forum, a series of discussions aimed at providing information to those active in the fishing industry and exploring solutions to industry challenges, has officially begun.

The forum, titled 'Masveringey Gunzaru' (Fishermen's Forum), commenced this morning in R. Dhuvaafaru, the island officially hosting this year's Fishermen's Day celebrations. A total of 47 fishermen from 9 atolls participated in the two-day forum. Additionally, four fish processing companies took part in the event.

The Fishermen's Forum will feature discussions on developing and advancing the fishing industry. During this morning's sessions, fishermen engaged in extensive discussions to resolve the difficulties and challenges they face.

Minister of Fisheries and Ocean Resources Ahmed Shiyam and senior officials from the ministry participated in the forum. Speaking at the event, Minister Ahmed Shiyam assured that the ministry will work towards resolving the difficulties faced by fishermen.
