Fisheries sector to compete in 4 categories at the Maldivian Productivity Exhibition!

The fisheries sector is included in the competitive segment of the Maldivian Productivity Exhibition 2025, scheduled to be held next May.

Organized under the initiative of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade to encourage increased productivity and business expansion in the Maldives, this exhibition will be held from May 23 to 31 at Hulhumale' Central Park.

The exhibition has opened opportunities to compete in 14 main areas of Maldivian productivity. The Ministry stated that within the competitive segment of the exhibition, the fisheries sector can be contested in 4 categories. These are: fish products (value-added), new innovations in the fisheries sector, fishing equipment (machinery/tools), and other fisheries products.

Individuals, representatives of islands and cities, registered businesses, educational institutions, civil society organizations, and persons with disabilities can participate in the designated categories for competition in this exhibition. While the opportunity to participate in the exhibition was opened last November, online participation is still available. Registration for the exhibition can be done via the link https://expo.mv.

The Business Center Corporation (BCC), which is active in organizing this exhibition, stated that this is the largest exhibition of its kind held in the Maldives to date, and it is a great opportunity for producers or artisans and business people to meet in one place and connect with businesses. BCC said that the exhibition will also provide an opportunity to showcase, promote, and sell the products of artisans.
