Fisheries Minister Ahmed Shiyam has visited China's Fujian Mawei Shipbuilding Company.
During his visit to the company today, the Minister toured the facilities to gain further insight into China's shipbuilding industry. He also sought information on modern techniques and technologies that could be suitably utilized in the Maldives. Specifically, the Minister discussed with the company's experts ways to assist in improving the design and robustness of Maldivian fishing vessels, as well as introducing innovations in other related industries.
The Minister was accompanied on this visit by State Minister Mohamed Muttalib and several senior officials from the Ministry.
