Fisheries Minister Ahmed Shiyam has met with the fishermen of L. Maamendhoo.
Regarding the meeting held with Maamendhoo fishermen last night, the Minister stated that he met with some of the island's fishermen and shared many discussions.
Fisheries Minister meets with Maamendhoo fishermen
During this meeting, discussions were held regarding the fish purchasing price at Maandhoo and the delays in issuing payments for the fish bought from fishermen. Furthermore, the fishermen shared the challenges they face in obtaining ice from the island with the Minister.
The Minister said he was pleased that they shared their challenges.
This is the first time the Minister has met separately with a group of fishermen following the protests held by fishermen last month.
