Fisheries Minister Ahmed Shiyam has met with the Th. Kandoodhoo Council.
During the meeting held at the Fisheries Ministry, the Minister shared information with the council regarding opportunities in the mariculture sector and the training programs conducted by the Ministry in this field.
The meeting, which was also attended by the Member of Parliament for the Kinbidhoo constituency Ali Ashraq and senior officials of the Fisheries Ministry, included discussions on how to quickly resolve the issues facing the ice plants operated by Fenaka Corporation in Th. Vandhoo and Th. Hirilandhoo, according to the Fisheries Ministry.
The Fisheries Ministry has been working closely with atoll and island councils to resolve the issues faced by fishermen and the fisheries sector in various atolls. As such, the Minister and senior officials of the Ministry have been holding a series of discussions with councils on what can be done to resolve such issues.
