Fisheries Minister Ahmed Shiyam has met with the delegation of Indian businessmen currently visiting the Maldives.
The Indian business delegation is a high-level delegation led and organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), representing various sectors.
During the meeting held at the Fisheries Ministry this afternoon, the Minister shared information with the delegation regarding investment opportunities in the Maldives' fisheries industry and held important discussions on the matter. Key areas of information exchange included mariculture, expanding fish processing infrastructure, and developing sports fishing marinas.
An "Investment Information Forum" was also held today specifically for this Indian delegation. At this forum, organized by the Foreign Ministry and the Indian High Commission in the Maldives, State Minister of the Fisheries Ministry Aminath Hussain Shareef and Director Ahmed Shifaz participated and shared investment opportunities available to Indian investors and businesses in the Maldives' mariculture industry, fish processing facilities and technology, and sports fishing marina development projects, and clarified the procedures to be followed for investing.
