Fish purchasing at Kooddoo jetty halted due to cooling system issue

Fish purchasing at the Kooddoo Fisheries Complex (KFC), operated by the state fish company, has been halted.

MIFCO stated that direct fish purchasing from the Kooddoo jetty was suspended due to an issue with KFC's cooling system. Therefore, fish will not be purchased from the Kooddoo jetty until the issue is resolved. However, MIFCO noted that fish will still be purchased by the Randhi-30 vessel docked at the Kooddoo harbor.

"The issue occurred because a pipe in the freezing system leaked. Repair work is currently underway. It will take approximately 3-4 hours," a MIFCO official said.

MIFCO has made this public, bringing it to the attention of fishermen and vessels that weigh fish to MIFCO.
