Fire Extinguished on Boat "Hamdhu"

The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has stated that the fire that broke out on the boat "Hamdhu" this morning has been extinguished.

MNDF said that the fire broke out in the engine room of the boat "Hamdhu", which was transporting water to Kandima Resort, and was reported to the MNDF Central Area Command, Dh. Kudahuvadhoo Fire Station at around 7:20 am. Upon receiving the report, firefighters from the fire station were immediately dispatched, according to MNDF.

MNDF recently confirmed that the fire on the boat has now been fully extinguished.

Four people were travelling on the boat when the incident occurred. MNDF reports that all of them are in good health. The boat was severely burnt in the incident.
