A fire incident has occurred on a steel boat at the ADh. Maamigili boatyard.
MNDF stated that the MNDF Male Area Command, ADh. Maamigili Fire Station received reports of a fire breaking out in the wheelhouse of the dry-docked boat named 'Villa Buru' at approximately 15:15 today. Upon receiving the information, firefighters from the station were dispatched to the scene and managed to completely extinguish the blaze by 15:50. MNDF noted that assistance was provided by firefighters from Maamigili Airport.
The incident occurred while attempting to cut an antenna on top of the boat's wheelhouse using a gas cutter. MNDF confirmed that no one was injured in the incident.
