A fire has broken out on a diving boat moored outside the Feydhoo harbor in Addu City.
The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) stated that following the fire on the diving boat, firefighters from the MNDF Southern Area Command have begun operating at the scene.

MNDF stated that upon receiving information about the incident around 13:30 today, firefighters from the MNDF Southern Area Command, Addu City Hithadhoo Fire Station began efforts to extinguish the fire. MNDF added that while efforts to extinguish the fire were ongoing, the boat sank around 15:30 today.
When the fire broke out on the diving boat, the people on board boarded a safari vessel moored nearby. MNDF stated that one person suffered burns to their leg in the incident and has now been discharged after receiving treatment at the Addu City Feydhoo Health Centre.
