Fire breaks out on a dhoni off Gulhifalhu

A fire has broken out on a dhoni located outside the Gulhifalhu channel.

The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) stated that the fire occurred on a dhoni named "Oxgon Carrier 2".

MNDF said that upon receiving information about the incident around 13:22 today, firefighters from the MNDF Male' Area Command, Hulhumale' Fire Station traveled to the area and are working to extinguish the fire.

Update (15:30):

MNDF stated that through the efforts of the firefighters, the fire in the dhoni's engine room was extinguished around 14:45 today.

MNDF said that the 5 people on board the dhoni at the time of the incident boarded another dhoni and sought safety. Furthermore, MNDF stated that although no one was injured in the incident, the dhoni's engine room suffered extensive damage.
