Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has banned fiberglass work within the Hulhumale lagoon.

In a public statement, HDC noted that it has come to their attention that some individuals are carrying out fiberglass work on boats and vessels moored in the Hulhumale lagoon, and instructed them to cease such activities starting tomorrow. The statement also said that action will be taken against those who violate this directive in collaboration with the Marine Police and other relevant authorities, and that necessary measures will be taken to stop fiberglass work in the Hulhumale lagoon.

HDC stated that conducting fiberglass work in the lagoon causes negative environmental impacts and harms others using the area. Therefore, HDC has requested that the work be stopped before 12:00 tomorrow night or be relocated to an area specifically designated for such work.
