To mark the 45th Fishermen's Day being celebrated this year, the B. Eydhafushi Council has decided to hold a fishing tournament.
In addition to marking Fishermen's Day, this tournament, decided to be held to appreciate fishermen, revive and foster the spirit of fishing, revive and foster social spirit, and strengthen ties among fishermen, will be held on Saturday, December 06, 2025. According to the council's decision, the fishing tournament will proceed from 03:00 pm to 07:30 pm on that day. The teams participating in the tournament will depart for fishing and also return to the western area of the island's harbour. The tournament is being conducted with cash prizes awarded to the winning teams.

The council has now opened the opportunity to participate in this fishing tournament, which has been decided to be held under the name "B. Eydhafushi Council Fishing Tournament 2025". The council has requested teams wishing to participate in the tournament to register via the Google Form link designated for the tournament before Tuesday, November 25, 2025.

Fishermen's Day is marked on December 10 of every year. Although the government holds official activities such as holding an official ceremony and giving awards on that day, activities like fishing tournaments are held at city, atoll, and island levels. Eydhafushi is an island that holds fishing activities with great enthusiasm. Even on occasions other than Fishermen's Day, such as Eid, fishing-related activities like fishing tournaments are held in Eydhafushi.
