Exercise 'Jarraafa' training to be held in sea area near Male': MNDF

The MNDF Fire and Rescue Service has commenced this year's training for its annual exercise 'Jarraafa' today.

This exercise, which will be conducted for a period of two days starting today, is an annual exercise held since 2013 to familiarize with the Fire Emergency Operational Plan implemented by the MNDF Fire and Rescue Service.

MNDF stated today that while these trainings are scheduled to be conducted in Male', Hulhumale', Villimale', Thilafushi, and the sea area near Male', the trainings will practice emergency procedures used in fire incidents in high-rise buildings, rescue operations, hazmat operations, and road accidents.

The ceremony held today at Kalhuthukkalaa Koshi to commence this exercise was graced by the Chief of Defence Force, Major General Ibrahim Hilmy. The ceremony was attended by the Vice Chief of Defence Force, Brigadier General Ahmed Ghiyas, Commander of MNDF Male' Area Command, Brigadier General Ibrahim Rasheed, Director General of MNDF Directorate of Operations and Training, Brigadier General Hassan Shahid, Commandant of MNDF Fire and Rescue Service, Colonel Ahmed Thahir, and the Chief Executive of the National Disaster Management Authority, Hisan Hassan. Additionally, hospitals and emergency response teams in the Male' area participated.
