Engine of 'Viluroadhi' Dhoni Up for Sale

The Vilufushi Council has decided to sell an engine previously used in the island's 'Viluroadhi' dhoni.

The engine being auctioned is a 350-horsepower Yanmar engine that was taken from the 'Viluroadhi' dhoni after 14 years of use. Although the engine does not have a gear set, the Vilufushi Council stated that the engine's alternator, gear remote, and starting motor are in good condition, and the harness and meter board are usable. The minimum selling price for this engine is MVR 50,000, according to the announcement published by the council opening the bid.

The council has requested interested parties to submit their bid forms. The council office has started issuing the 'Bid Paper on Selling the Engine via Auction'. The council office stated that bid papers will be issued until 13:00 on Sunday, November 23.

The acceptance and opening of bid forms will take place at 13:15 on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, in the council office's meeting hall. The council stated that parties who do not collect the bid paper and form will not be given the opportunity to submit a bid form.
