Thiladhunmathi Uthuruburi Atoll Council has opened the opportunity for island councils and clubs in the atoll to submit proposals to colorfully celebrate this year's "Fishermen's Day".
This is the second time the council has opened the opportunity to submit proposals. The deadline was previously set for October 29. The council has not disclosed the reason for announcing it again for a second time.
In an announcement published today regarding the matter, the council stated that islands wishing to host Fishermen's Day should complete their proposals and submit them to the council's official email info@halifatoll.gov.mv or the Atoll Council Office before 12:00 on Wednesday, November 13.
The decision to colorfully celebrate Fishermen's Day in HA Atoll is aimed at maintaining and fostering unity and solidarity among the citizens of the atoll, and strengthening social ties. The council stated that it has decided to provide a financial assistance of MVR 30,000.00 to the party that gets the opportunity to host Fishermen's Day.
The government has decided to hold the official celebrations of this year's Fishermen's Day in Male' City. This year marks the 44th Fishermen's Day. The opportunity to apply for the awards to be given by the government on Fishermen's Day has also been opened now.
