Distribution of Ramadan gift canned fish to begin on the 24th of this month

Minister of Cities, Local Government and Public Works Adam Shareef Umar has stated that the distribution of canned fish cases, gifted by the government to every household for Ramadan, is scheduled to begin on Saturday, the 24th of this month.

The Minister made this statement during a press briefing held today at the Ministry's 'Rahvehi Maalam' to provide information to the media by the task force formed regarding the distribution of the Ramadan gift.

The Minister stated that the distribution of canned fish cases in the Male' region is scheduled from Saturday, the 24th of this month, until February 11. During this period, canned fish will be distributed every night from 8:30 pm to 11:00 pm, except on Fridays. The Minister also stated that token registration via the Ramadan gift portal roadhahadhiya.mv, introduced by the Maldives Police Service for the distribution of canned fish, will be opened today.

15 centers have been established in the Male' region to distribute canned fish. These are 8 centers in Male', 1 center in Vilimale', and 6 centers in Hulhumale'.

MNDF, MPL, WAMCO, MWSC, and MIFCO will be active in the distribution of the Ramadan gift. The Ministry of Construction, Ministry of Sports, Ministry of Education, MIFCO, HDC, and WAMCO are involved in establishing the centers.

In accordance with the pledge of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, it has been decided to distribute the Ramadan gift this year, 1447, just like the past 2 years. Similar to previous years, the government will distribute a case of 48 cans of fish, at the rate of one case per Maldivian household. While STO is carrying out the work of sending canned fish to the islands and cities, the distribution of the Ramadan gift in the islands and cities other than Male' will be carried out by the councils.
