The Ministry of Cities, Local Government and Public Works has commenced the dispatch of canned fish cases, gifted by the government to every Maldivian household for Ramadan 1447, to the atolls.
Speaking on Dhivehi Raajjeyge Adu's "Aduge Raajje" program today, State Minister of the Ministry Yoosuf Abdul Ghafoor stated that the work of sending canned fish cases to the islands in the atolls began yesterday, and the dispatching process will continue today and tomorrow. The State Minister added that the full-scale transportation to the atolls will commence tomorrow.
State Minister Yoosuf mentioned that canned fish cases are already warehoused in various regions of the atolls to facilitate distribution. He noted that the distribution of canned fish cases from these locations to the islands will begin very soon.
STO is undertaking the task of sending the canned fish to the islands and cities other than Male'. The respective councils will carry out the distribution of the Ramadan gifts in the islands and other cities.
In accordance with President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's pledge, similar to the past two years, the government is distributing a case of 48 cans of fish to every Maldivian household for the current year 1447. This year, canned fish cases are scheduled to be distributed to a total of 118,773 households. This includes 61,755 households in Male' and 56,918 households in the atolls. The distribution of canned fish cases in Male' City began on February 24th.
