Discussions Held to Resolve Concerns of Bileffahi Fishermen

Important discussions have been held between the Fisheries Ministry and the Bileffahi Council regarding what can be done to find a solution to the challenges faced by fishermen in Sh. Bileffahi.

These discussions took place during a meeting held yesterday between the State Minister of the Fisheries Ministry, Mohamed Muttalib, and the Bileffahi Council.

During this meeting, which was also attended by senior officials from the Fisheries Ministry, the main focus of the discussion was on finding suitable solutions to the concerns of Bileffahi fishermen. In this regard, discussions were held on expediting the deployment of FADs (vadhu kandhufathi) in the island as requested by the Bileffahi Council, and arranging a system for reef fishermen to easily obtain ice.

At the meeting, the Council shared details of the challenges faced by the fisheries sector in Bileffahi with the Ministry. The Ministry also shared information with the Council regarding the various ongoing works being carried out by the Ministry.
