The Ministry of Fisheries, Agriculture and Ocean Resources has held discussions with Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) regarding the difficulties faced by fishermen in utilizing ports.
The meeting, led by Minister Ahmed Shiyam, was attended by MPL CEO Captain Hussain Shafeeq and senior officials from both the company and the Ministry. During the meeting, extensive discussions were held on the challenges fishermen face when using the ports, the Ministry said. Furthermore, discussions also covered the Fisheries and Maritime Hub planned to be established in Addu City, according to the Ministry.
At the meeting, the CEO of MPL gave full assurance that the company would provide all possible assistance and cooperation to resolve the difficulties faced by fishermen in using the ports.
