Discussions have been held regarding the areas where assistance from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) is needed to develop the fisheries industry.
These discussions took place during a meeting held today between the Minister of Fisheries and Ocean Resources, Ahmed Shiyam, and the Country Director of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), Sherina Tabassum.
During this meeting, Minister Shiyam expressed gratitude for the assistance provided by IFAD to develop the Maldives' fisheries sector. The Minister also shared President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's vision for developing the mariculture sector as part of his efforts to develop fisheries, as well as the work being done by the Ministry to develop mariculture.
