Discussions have begun to ensure that Maldivian ports providing international services are operating in accordance with international standards.
The Transport Ministry stated that this year's discussions are underway as part of the annual program to ensure the security arrangements and operations of Maldivian ports comply with international standards.
In these discussions between relevant officials of the Transport Ministry and the US Coast Guard team, assessments of port operations will be conducted, and areas of cooperation will be identified to enhance maritime security and incident response. The Transport Ministry stated that the findings from these discussions are expected to help further strengthen the security standards of Maldivian ports.
