B. Atoll Dhonfanu is preparing to celebrate this year's 'World Manta Day'.
In collaboration with the B. Atoll Council and Dhonfanu Council, sports and entertainment activities have been organized to mark the day.
Dhonfanu to Celebrate 'World Manta Day'
The event, which will see the participation of a large number of Dhonfanu residents and school children, will be held this evening at the island's 3 Ruh Park.
The B. Atoll Council stated that in addition to providing information on the importance of manta rays, a drawing competition targeted at children is also scheduled to be held. Furthermore, sports activities targeted at families are planned to be conducted at the park.
World Manta Day is celebrated globally on September 17th every year. The purpose of this day is to highlight the significance of manta rays and the importance of protecting these marine creatures.
