Dhevvadhoo Ice Plant Resumes Operations

The GA. Dhevvadhoo ice plant has been brought back into operation and has started issuing ice to fishermen.

The operation of the Dhevvadhoo ice plant had to be halted yesterday afternoon, but not due to a technical issue with the plant itself. MIFCO was forced to suspend operations because FSM failed to supply the fuel required to run the facility on time.

Upon receiving fuel this morning, MIFCO immediately resumed operations at the ice plant and began issuing ice to fishermen.

Recently, delays in fuel supply by FSM have occasionally forced ice plants to halt operations, causing disruptions to some of MIFCO's operations as well. Discussions have previously been held between senior officials of MIFCO and FSM to resolve these issues.

The GA. Dhevvadhoo ice plant was established by the government and handed over to MIFCO during President Yameen's administration. It is an ice plant with a capacity of 25 tonnes.
