Dhangethi Harbour Project: Deepening of T-Jetty Area Basin Begins

Under the ADh. Dhangethi harbour expansion project, the deepening of the T-jetty area basin has commenced.

The project contractor, Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), stated that the deepening of the new harbour at the T-jetty area and the installation of quay wall blocks are currently underway at the site. MTCC also noted that 15% of the overall project has been completed.

The "ADh. Dhangethi Harbour Upgrade Project" was awarded to MTCC for design and construction on September 6, 2023. The site was mobilized to commence practical work on April 18, 2024.

The main works planned under this project include:

• Harbour dredging and land reclamation

• Construction of pavement in the harbour area

This project, awarded to MTCC by the government, is valued at 71.16 million MVR.
