President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that preparations are underway to install decompression chambers in 6 islands of the Maldives within the next 4 months.
The President made this statement and gave this assurance while meeting and speaking with the residents of Th. Guraidhoo tonight. Highlighting the ongoing efforts to fulfill his pledge to establish decompression chambers in various regions of the Maldives, he stated that the work to establish decompression chambers in those islands is proceeding at a fast pace.
"The work of establishing chambers in the pledged islands across the country is being done. Purchasing, bringing, and installing them are proceeding at a very fast pace," President Dr. Muizzu said.
In accordance with the pledge, the President stated that decompression chambers will be installed within the next four months in Male' City, Addu City, Fuvahmulah City, Thinadhoo City, AA. Rasdhoo, and GA. Vilingili.
The first decompression chamber established outside of Male' was set up in Th. Guraidhoo. This chamber, which will be opened in Guraidhoo tomorrow, was established with the assistance of the Japanese government. This chamber is scheduled to be operated under the supervision of MNDF's Senahiya Hospital.
"This is a very important service for fishermen and divers to save their lives. Very modern, complete equipment. It has the capacity (Guraidhoo decompression chamber) to treat even if decompressed from 100 meters deep. In addition, relevant doctors can also use it for oxygen therapy and other such things," President Dr. Muizzu said.
In his speech, the President shared with the citizens an update on the development projects being carried out in Guraidhoo and the projects planned to be carried out.
