The Th. Dhiyamigili Council has issued a deadline for private individuals to remove their vessels and other belongings to clear the island's small harbor area.
In a public announcement, the island council stated that the deadline to clear the area was given because the small harbor space is needed to store boulders and other materials required for the revetment work. Therefore, the council has requested that private vessels and other items in the area be removed and the area cleared by 18:00 on Thursday, 23 October 2025.
The council stated that if any items remain unremoved by the end of the given deadline, the council will remove them. The council also noted that it will not take responsibility for any damages that may occur during the removal of such items.
