The Fisheries Ministry has extended the deadline to participate in the reef fishing competition, held as part of the activities to mark this year's Fishermen's Day.
This fishing competition is scheduled to be held in R. Dhuvaafaru, the island designated by the government to celebrate this year's Fishermen's Day. The race, named 'Fishermen's Day Fishing Competition 2025', will take place on Friday, 12 December 2025.
The opportunity to participate in this race, which is open to the islands of R. Atoll, was initially opened by the Fisheries Ministry on the 11th of this month. While the original deadline expired on the 20th of this month, the deadline to participate has now been extended. Those who wish to participate in the race must complete the designated form and submit it to the Fisheries Ministry before 14:00 on 30 November 2025. The Ministry stated that the opportunity to participate will be given to the first 20 eligible teams that submit their forms.
