The council has ordered the removal of dinghies from the project area as preparations are underway to commence the GDh. Rathafandhoo harbour upgrade project.
An announcement published by the island council yesterday stated that the project contractor mobilized to Rathafandhoo yesterday. Furthermore, owners of dinghies and vessels moored in the harbour upgrade area have been instructed to remove them within 3 days.
The council stated that neither the contractor nor the council will be responsible for any damages caused during the work if the dinghies are not removed from the area. Along with the council's announcement, a chart highlighting the area where dinghies must be removed was published.
Under the Rathafandhoo harbour repair and development project, the planned works include the installation of a 221-metre breakwater, installation of harbour navigation lights, a 21-metre revetment, construction of a 312.7-metre jetty, and sand leveling works.
