The L. Maabaidhoo Council has begun efforts to find a contractor to repair the island's public fish market using their own materials.

The council stated that interested private businesses and companies are requested to clarify information and register for the bid from today until the 6th of next month. Registration for the bid requires filling out a dedicated form and paying a fee of 250 Rufiyaa. Furthermore, the council noted that bids must be submitted in the bidder's own format.
The submission of estimates will take place at 11:30 am on the 9th of next month at the council office. Points in the bidding process will be awarded based on the proposed price, work experience, and the duration to complete the work.
According to the information published by the Maabaidhoo Council regarding this bid, the required works include rewiring the electricity of the fish market and replacing the entire wiring, installing the same number of lights currently in place, and laying a 2-inch floor with a half-inch slope tilting towards the north. Additionally, it involves creating a 2-inch deep drain near the walls on both sides of the fish market with a half-inch slope to direct all water northwards, making a 1-inch drain on the far side of the fish cutting tables to direct water towards the existing drainage pipes, and painting the entire facility.
