Contract awarded to develop the market complex including the new Male' Fish Market

The development of the Male' Wet Market Complex, which includes the Male' Fish Market to be established in the Male' North Harbour area, has been awarded to a private company.

The project was awarded yesterday to Trusteng Maldives Private Limited. At the signing ceremony held yesterday, Permanent Secretary Mohamed Shamil signed the agreement on behalf of the Ministry of Construction and Infrastructure. Managing Director Mohamed Abdul Haadee signed on behalf of Trusteng Maldives Private Limited.

The 15,525 square foot building was awarded to Trusteng Maldives Private Limited to be completed within 600 days for MVR 126,359,594.94 (One hundred and twenty-six million, three hundred and fifty-nine thousand, five hundred and ninety-four Rufiyaa, ninety-four Laari).

The ground floor of the 6-storey Male' Wet Market Complex is dedicated to the fish market. The fish market is designed to include 110 stainless steel stalls dedicated to selling fish and a 5-tonne ice plant.
