The opportunity to submit proposals for the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) required to establish an ice plant and cold storage in Lh. Naifaru has been reopened.
The government has tasked the Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company Limited (MIFCO) with establishing a 40-tonne seawater tube ice plant along with a 60-tonne cold storage in Naifaru. MIFCO initially opened the opportunity to find a party to prepare the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) report for this project on the 10th of this month. However, as an adequate number of participants did not apply during that period, MIFCO reopened the work for bidding on the 19th of this month.
In the announcement published after reopening the bid, MIFCO stated that interested and eligible parties have until 10:00 on 25 March 2026 to submit their estimates or proposals. Bids must be submitted only to the email address contract@mifco.mv, and MIFCO reserves the right to reject bids sent to or CC'd to any other email address, according to the announcement. The Terms of Reference for this work are attached with the announcement.
