The government has awarded the project to develop a commercial port in Dh. Kudahuvadhoo to Maldives Ports Limited (MPL).
The agreement for this project was signed during a ceremony held last night in Kudahuvadhoo, as part of the President's ongoing tour of Dhaalu Atoll.
Minister of Economic Development Mohamed Saeed signed the agreement on behalf of the government, while CEO Mohamed Rishwan signed on behalf of MPL.
Under this agreement, MPL will develop and operate the Kudahuvadhoo commercial port. MPL stated that they also plan to establish a bonded warehouse alongside the commercial port.
Kudahuvadhoo is one of the seven regions the government has decided to develop as an urban centre.
