President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has announced that the ongoing projects to establish cold storage facilities for fishermen across various regions of the Maldives will be completed and handed over within the next 15 months.

Delivering this year's Presidential Address, the President stated that the biggest challenge facing the fishing industry is the lack of cold storage to store raw fish. Under the efforts to find a solution to this issue, cold storage establishment projects are currently underway in Thinadhoo City, Lh. Felivaru, M. Mulah, GA. Kooddoo, Addu Hulhudhoo, HA. Ihavandhoo, GDh. Fiyoaree, and F. Nilandhoo. The President gave his assurance that these projects will be completed and handed over within the next 15 months.

In his Presidential Address, the President also assured that this government will remain steadfast in bringing prosperity to the fishing industry by working closely with fishermen and listening to their voices.
