The MNDF Coast Guard Training School has conducted a "Certificate Level 1 in Port Security Training" aimed at employees of Maldives Ports Limited.
This course, held from September 15 to October 19, was completed by 29 MPL employees. According to MNDF, the modules taught to participants in this course included fire safety and emergency management, self-defense and restraint techniques, International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code, safety in working environment, first aid, physical training and watermanship, communication, security techniques and procedures, and attitude.
This training program is conducted with the objective of teaching the skills and knowledge required for those working in sea port security and producing capable security officers in the private sector. The course was taught by soldiers from various fields of the MNDF Coast Guard.
The ceremony held yesterday at the Bandaarakoshi Auditorium to conclude this training program was graced by the Minister of State for Transport and Civil Aviation, Captain Abdul Latheef Mohamed. The ceremony was attended by the Commandant of MNDF Coast Guard, Brigadier General Mohamed Saleem, Principal Director of MNDF Coast Guard, Colonel Mohamed Rizmy Waleed, Chief Executive Officer of MPL, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Retired) Mohamed Rishwan, and senior officials from some institutions.
