The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Coast Guard Ship 'Huravee' has participated in the International Fleet Review held in Visakhapatnam, India.
The International Fleet Review, taking place from the 15th to the 25th of this month in Visakhapatnam, is a military event where military vessels from participating countries gather in one place.
A total of 85 military vessels participated in this event, which saw the participation of 74 countries from around the world. This includes 66 vessels of the Indian Navy and 19 vessels belonging to various foreign countries. In addition, three submarines and over 60 military aircraft of the Indian Navy participated in this event.
During this event, senior military officials from the countries traveled by sea near the docked vessels and reviewed the fleet. The senior official representing the Maldivian military in this year's military event was the Commandant of the MNDF Coast Guard, Brigadier General Mohamed Saleem.
During the trip to India by the Commandant of the MNDF Coast Guard, Brigadier General Mohamed Saleem to view the fleet review, the Commandant held discussion meetings with delegations from Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka, and Australia. These meetings mainly focused on working together to maintain maritime safety and security.
The MNDF has stated that the participation of an MNDF Coast Guard vessel in such an international event is an important opportunity to increase the capability of the Maldivian military and to strengthen relations with the militaries of foreign countries.
