The MNDF has stated that the MNDF Male' Area Coast Guard Second Squadron is assisting the police in the search for a man who went missing after going on a trip to a reclaimed sandbank south of K. Huvafen Fushi.
The missing person, who went on a trip to the reclaimed sandbank south of K. Huvafen Fushi, is Tasleem Mohamed, 43, of M. Asareehandhaan. Based on the information received so far, it has not been confirmed whether he went missing in the sea, so the search operation is being led by the Maldives Police Service.
The MNDF said tonight that after the Maldives Police Service reported him missing since going on the trip on August 29, Coast Guard divers searched a 5,000-square-foot area around the sandbank by snorkeling and a 3,000-square-foot area underwater by diving in the search operation conducted by the police.
