The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has stated that the Coast Guard is closely monitoring a Sri Lankan fishing boat reported to be drifting west of Addu Atoll.
Last night, MNDF stated that the boat is located 70 nautical miles west of S. Hithadhoo. The vessel is drifting towards the Hithadhoo Koattey area in Addu City.
The boat, named "Sandali Valentina", is painted green and blue. MNDF also stated that the boat informed them it is drifting due to engine failure, and that the crew members are in good condition.
