The Coast Guard has begun operating after an oil barge ran aground.
The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) stated that the grounded vessel is an oil barge named "Hawks Dhoodhi".

MNDF stated that the MNDF Male' Area Command, Coast Guard Second Squadron is active after receiving reports that the barge ran aground on the reef east of K. Kuda Villingili Resort.
