Team "Chill Bros" has secured first place in the "My Hulhumale" fishing tournament.
To celebrate the 21st anniversary of the settlement of Hulhumale, the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) and Ooredoo Maldives jointly held the fishing tournament on Thursday from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm. "Chill Bros" won first place by catching the highest number of fish among the 19 teams that completed the race.
The experienced "Chill Bros", who have previously achieved many successes in reef fishing tournaments, caught a total of 181 fish (88.6 kg) in this tournament. "Chill Bros" also won the title of the best overall team in the race. The prize money of MVR 21,000 was presented to the team by HDC's Managing Director Mohamed Mauroof Jameel.
The best fisherman of the tournament was Yoosay from the "Chill Bros" team. Yoosay, who won the best fisherman title by catching a total of 59 fish, was awarded MVR 5,000 by HDC. The cash prize was presented to the fisherman by HDC's Deputy Managing Director Fayaz Mansoor.
The heaviest fish in the tournament was caught by Mode from Team Sea Horse. The weight of the fish he caught was 11.90 kilograms. He was awarded a cash prize of MVR 5,000 by HDC. The prize was presented to him by the Member of Parliament for the Hulhumale Central constituency, Mohamed Shazeem.
Excluding the best overall team of the My Hulhumale fishing tournament, the top ten teams were also selected and awarded prizes. Prizes for the top 10 teams were sponsored by the Hulhumale Fishermen's Association and Ensis. The medals provided by the Fishermen's Association and the gift hampers provided by Ensis were presented to the teams by HDC's Chief Resource Officer Mohamed Ilham and the President of the Hulhumale Fishermen's Association Ibrahim Nashad.

Although a total of 64 teams participated in the "My Hulhumale" fishing tournament, only 41 teams departed on time in accordance with the rules of the race. Furthermore, only 19 teams completed the race. Therefore, the winners were selected from among the 19 teams that completed the race on time.
