A dhoni travelling from Male' to Fushifaru with cargo has run aground on the Gaafaru reef.
The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) stated that the dhoni ran aground yesterday morning, and efforts are currently underway to salvage the cargo and refloat the vessel. The dhoni ran aground on the reef near the Gaafaru channel while attempting to enter K. Gaafaru.
At the time the cargo dhoni ran aground, there were a total of 5 people on board, including the captain and crew. There have been no reports of any injuries in this incident.
