Cargo boat runs aground on Maavaddhoo reef

A cargo boat has run aground on the reef of N. Maavaddhoo.

The vessel that ran aground on the reef of N. Maavaddhoo, an uninhabited island leased for agriculture, is the "Venus" boat belonging to Fuvahmulah City. The Venus boat is a 100-foot cargo vessel.

The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) stated that the boat, which was travelling from Male' to HA. Atoll loaded with aggregate, gravel, and cement, had 13 crew members on board and none of them were harmed.

According to MNDF, the report of the Venus boat running aground was received by the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) at 03:59 last night.
